The Wild Unknown Tarot – The Devil

This can be a scary looking card in some tarot decks, but really isn’t anything to be afraid of. It often points to a situation where we have become entrapped in a situation of our own making, usually a behaviour pattern or way of thinking, which is having negative repercussions for us.

It can indicate addictive patterns which are keeping us enslaved to another person, a substance or a negative, self defeating pattern. In order to break free from whatever is holding us back, we will need to confront our shadow side and work through the personal issues we uncover there. There is no quick fix to take us out of the forest and back into the light….the only way is “through”.

We must not despair though as through the darkness of the trees we can see the light of the sun shining. It gives hope that if we do the inner work, and get professional help with this if necessary, we can emerge into a new place of hope and positivity, having conquered our inner demons.

Until next week,

The Son of Wands is a beautiful vibrant card full of aliveness and exuberance. It encourages us to reconnect with our creativity and sense of fun and enthusiasm. As adults we can often forget the importance of our creative spark. With all the pressures of life it can be the first thing to be sidelined and put on the back burner until we have more time….but usually that day never comes! This week would be a great time to carve out a little space for a creative adventure. Maybe you could go and see a local art exhibition, or a live band, or simply a rejuvenating walk in nature? Any of these activities may ignite the spark of inspiration to fire up your creative juices, and provide the impetus to kick start your own creative journey again.

The Chariot tells us that we are on the right path. This beautiful white horse reminds us to maintain a balance between the powerful questing and action oriented qualities of the Sun and the receptive, intuitive elements of the Moon. The Pentacle around the horses neck, resting in the area of the heart chakra symbolises that we have all the tools needed at our disposal. It’s time to dedicate ourselves to following our path and always come from the heart….from a place of kindness and authenticity.

This card can represent the worries, struggles, misunderstandings and negative thought patterns that are a natural part of the human experience. If you are experiencing painful thoughts, this card can ask you to consider how your thoughts themselves might be exacerbating your struggle.
This card also serves as a reminder that we learn from difficult experiences. We can use our reasoning and story-telling skills to reframe our experiences and lay the groundwork to move beyond the rawness.

This week take some time out to just ‘be’. Sometimes we forget we are human beings, and act more like human ‘doings’ as we rush around trying to cross things off our ever increasing to do list. So today try and make life a little easier on yourself…..scratch anything that isn’t strictly necessary, and give yourself five minutes out of your busy day to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and get in touch with your inner voice. It may be that taking a brief timeout may inspire you with fresh insight or new creative ideas which will help make the rest of your week more productive.

This weeks randomly selected card is Judgement from The Wild Unknown deck.
What looks like a beautiful white dove hovers at the top of the card, emanating rays of light.

Below the dove, black coloured birds or even bats rise up towards the outstretched wings of the almost angelic looking presence.

There is an overwhelming feeling of peace, freedom and redemption contained within this card as the birds appear to emerge from the tangled mass of darkness and heed the call from above.

This week it is time to heed this call in our own lives. The time has come to leave behind the difficulties and disappointments of the past and move forwards towards a more promising and uplifting future.

Anything that is holding you back from making peace with yourself and others can now be gently released into the light. Even if there are regrets and mistakes in your past that you have struggled to let go of, the Judgement card signals that you are forgiven and accepted into the protection and safety of a higher power (whatever this means to you).

Any sense of not deserving or being worthy of freedom, peace of mind and redemption are utterly false. The dove on this card says that everyone is forgiven and free to rise up into this magical place of peace, love and wisdom. The dove makes no judgement and welcomes all comers with the same open arms (wings).

The slate is wiped clean and we are free to break free from the murky recesses of the past and begin again….clean, purified and absolved.

The randomly drawn card for this week is The Lovers. This is a gorgeous depiction showing a pair of Canadian Geese flying in formation against a beautiful sky radiating vibrant blue rays. Canada Geese are known to mate for life, and blue is a colour of peace, harmony and communication. Put these together and we can see that this is a beautiful union of soulmates!

So, this is a marvellous energy to pervade the coming week and could have several implications concerning what we might expect.

Of course the most obvious interpretation is that we are already in, or about to discover a relationship which embodies this unbreakable union of commitment, loyalty and trust. This is the type of relationship where we feel we are in a true partnership; a meeting of mind, body and soul.

Like the geese shown in this image we feel that we have a shared future. Our goals and values are in sync and we are travelling in the same direction. This is the type of union where we feel that the other person simply ‘gets’ us. Often there is no need for words….both fly seamlessly together, part of a perfect team.

This relationship is rock solid and built on unshakeable foundations of commitment, faith and trust. It has often stood the test of time and provided steadfast support even through tough times. This is a love you can depend upon to always be there for you…..reliable and constant.

I think that we all dream of experiencing a partnership like this if we haven’t been lucky enough to find it thus far. However, The Lovers card doesn’t only relate to a romantic union. It could also describe a familial relationship, a kindred spirit we form a strong bond with, or even a working or business partnership.

I hope that this week you will be blessed with encountering this life affirming, steadfast union with someone special!

Until next week,

Daily Draw – The Star

IMG_5796.JPG

Today’s card is The Star! Another beautiful card that promises that wishes will come true. After The Fool yesterday, this speaks to me of taking chances and opportunities; of seizing the day! This will be the way to make things happen this year and follow the path to my own North Star. Dreams can finally become a reality in 2015 and hope springs eternal. These two cards in tandem are an amazingly positive omen and give me a sense of excitement and enthusiasm to embark on the next phase of my journey; a adventure that will hopefully take me to some awesome new places, people and circumstances!
