The Spacious Tarot – Seven of Swords

This week you may be feeling isolated and out on a limb, and this may be engendering a sense of confusion and being off track.

Perhaps, because of your beliefs or views about a situation, you may feel ostracised and sidelined and totally alone. It’s hard to go against the pack and stand in your own truth and integrity when there is intense pressure to conform to the majority view. However, it is vital to remain true to our own principles and values, although this often requires much courage and strength to do, when it seems we are out of step with society at large.

In order to feel less isolated, we need to find our own tribe. The kindred spirits who resonate with our own beliefs and values. Thankfully in this day and age it’s easy to find like minded souls online, even if we do not connect with these people in our everyday lives.

There is safety in numbers, so join together with others, to be the difference we wish to see in the world. We may not be able to effect change singlehandedly, but like an individual bee within a hive, together we can make big things happen.

Until next time,

wild {unknown} friday

I love this depiction of the Seven of Swords from The Wild Unknown deck, showing a very shifty and devious looking fox concealing one of the swords beneath his curled up body.

When this card appears, be careful who you trust, as someone may be trying to “pull the wool over your eyes” regarding something. It could indicate a betrayal or deception that has yet to come to light.

Equally, it could refer to something underhand or dishonest that you are contemplating getting involved with. Think carefully, as sometimes although it may seem like the easier option, the truth is usually the best policy in the long run.

In the words of Walter Scott…..

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive.”

Equally, this card could also be about something that we are at pains to keep from ourselves. Sometimes we are all guilty of burying our heads in the sand, rather than facing up to the unpalatable truth of a situation, emotion or action that we would prefer to blank out and ignore.

Daily Card ~ Seven of Swords

Play your cards close to your chest today. There is no need to reveal all of your plans to everyone. Sometimes it is completely necessary to keep some things under wraps; the disapproval or criticism from others is enough to cut off your big ideas at the knees before you even get started. Be discriminating and judicious with whom you share your fledgling ideas, and if you must reveal all, make sure it is to someone who will support and cheer you on.

Daily Card ~ Seven of Swords

You may get the distinct feeling today that someone is trying to pull the wool over your eyes, or is being economical with the truth. Or perhaps there is a case of gross exaggeration designed to scare you into a particular course of action. Either way things may not be as they seem so proceed with caution and don’t swallow wholesale the words of others if they don’t ring true to you.

This card indicates the need for vigilance and awareness of the motives of others. Is everything as it seems, or is someone trying to conceal something or deceive in some way? Equally it could be that we have something to hide or that we are keeping some information under wraps. Sometimes it is necessary to play our cards close to our chest depending on the situation or circumstances we find ourselves in. There are times when a tactical and strategic approach is the way to go.
