The Spacious Tarot – Four of Pentacles

The Four of Pentacles is a card about stability, structure and security in the material world. The “pentacles” portrayed in this card, from The Spacious Tarot, are surrounded by dangerous looking spikes which protect them.

This week, make sure you protect yourself and your assets. At this time it is best to do your research and ensure that any financial or investment opportunities are rock solid. This is not a time to get involved with risky get rich quick schemes, or with questionable investments which may entice with claims of super sized returns. Make sure you get sound financial advice from a trusted advisor before you sign on the dotted line.

In some circumstances the Four of Pentacles can manifest as possessiveness and greed. If we are insecure, and scared of not having “enough”, this can translate into holding on too tight to material “things” and possessions. Only we really know if we are becoming too attached to stuff because of a need to remain in control and safe in an uncertain world. If this is the case, try to gently release things which are keeping you trapped, and travel through life with more lightness and ease. Remember that the more we hold on to “stuff”, the more we block the flow of abundance and risk damning the circulation of blessings entering our lives.

Until next time,

This week could feel restrictive and confining. Although there is nothing wrong with life feeling stable and secure, at other times we wish to break free from the rigidity and over defined boundaries and seek more freedom to do things our own way. This week take some time to explore new options and ways of doing things…..often a change is as good as a rest!

This week’s Card is the Four of Pentacles, and so it would be great to use this energy as an opportunity for consolidation. Anywhere in your life where a greater sense of stability and security is needed would be the best place to start. Because we are dealing with the suit of Pentacles, this will relate to the physical world of money, home, your body and health, and the natural world. Maybe you need to turn your attention to your finances to build in more security for the coming year? Or perhaps the excesses of the festive season have left you feeling sluggish and lacklustre? This is a fantastic time for putting in place sustainable steps to stabilise and ground your plans for the upcoming year.

Until next week,

This weeks randomly selected card is the Four of Pentacles. It is a card which shows a strong sense of order, stability and security.
If you notice, the four pentacles are positioned in a diamond shape and look as if they are held in place by a system of ropes or pulleys. The diamond is one of the hardest materials known to man, and so this reinforces the idea of the solidity, strength and rigidity which is inherent within this card.
The ropes that bind the pentacles together also have a symbolic reference. They depict an intricately intertwined system which is organised, integrated and efficient. However it is also very restrictive and orderly, and some might say bordering on too controlling and lacking in any kind of spontaneity. This system literally works like the ‘cogs of a well oiled machine’ with slow and steady progress and a sense of everything being in it’s place. Sometimes though it is necessary to break the mould if we are becoming too rigid and stubborn in our approach to life. It is all too easy to become fixed and stuck in our ways for better or worse.
There comes a time when the best results are achieved when we allow ourselves to ‘think outside the box’ or allow the fresh winds of spontaneity to blow through our lives and shake things up a bit.
Worldly possessions can provide security and stability but we can also become trapped within the desire for them. It is completely natural to feel a need for security and protection but sometimes this can spill over into clinging to ideas, belongings and behaviours in the belief that this way we can maintain control within our lives.
The inevitable truth is that change is one of the constants in our lives and it is impossible to micromanage everything……some things are quite simply out of our hands.
It is therefore essential to find a balance between preserving the things we value, but also being open to the natural ebb and flow which is just as much a part of life. If we are able to relinquish some control and open up to a sense of trust in the process, then life can flow so much more easily.
Until next week,
