Today’s card is a truly beautiful one! In The Wild Unknown the image depicts a strong and pure white tree against a pitch black night sky, illuminated only by a crescent moon. The tree is edged with glorious pink, purple and red blossom to represent fertility, femininity and abundance.
The dark night sky suggests the mystery and shadows of the Divine Feminine and alludes to the power of intuition and inner wisdom.
The Empress also has a deep and sensual connection with life and nature, and a strong need for creative self expression and beauty in her life. This is a time to fully explore your world using the five senses: immerse yourself in a sensual maelstrom of soothing and harmonious sounds, delectable tastes and smells, the pure comfort of natural fibres, and the awe inspiring sights of the natural world.
Be careful what you wish for because you might just get it! Sometimes it’s difficult to know what it is we really want. Even if we have a good idea what it is, it’s impossible to envisage all the ramifications which may ensue if we were to achieve our hearts desire. How many times have we been convinced that if only we had this, that or the other we would be happy only to achieve it and realise that the state of bliss we expected is short lived? Maybe instead of being specific we could ask for whatever we encounter to be for our highest good; or to ‘let go and let God’ if we believe in a higher power.
This Card signals the beginning of something new. This has the possible potential to develop into something life changing but for now it is early days so nothing is guaranteed. It can be a new relationship, friendship, reconciliation or creative project. It could even be a new way of thinking or an alternative perspective on life. If allowed to gently unfold in it’s own way, it may evolve into something beautiful.
This week’s card, The Hierophant, has an image of a crow, which speaks of magic, intuition, wisdom, and the voice of experience. The crow is cawing, so it obviously has something important to convey to us. It could be quite literal; maybe we will read something on Twitter which has a significant message for us this week! I think it’s important to remember with this card that the the relevant information is likely to come from an outside source. It could be a mentor, counsellor or teacher, or just as likely, it may be a snippet of conversation we overhear, the lyrics of a song on the radio, or something we read on a blog at just the right moment.
The crow grasps a large key in her claws, which suggests that something vital is about to be unlocked….something of great value, which allows access to new information which has until now been under metaphorical “lock and key”. The penny is about to drop, and things fall into place.
The bolt of lightning underlies the fact that this message is likely to be received like a “bolt from the blue” when you least expect it. It is illumination that suddenly becomes available, in a classic “light bulb” or “ah-ha” moment.
Make sure that you are alert to all incoming information this week, whatever it’s source. There may be gold and jewels mixed in with the everyday dross!
Often when we can’t see properly we can start to imagine all kinds of frightening situations. When we only have the shadowy light of the moon to illuminate our path our fears can start to take on disproportionately scary guises. In the light of day these shadows can be seen for what they really are and cut down to size. Don’t let your fear take charge this week.
The Empress is a beautiful, bountiful card. It asks us to consider if we are nourishing ourselves on a regular basis? Are we doing the things which will empower us to create and sustain the important things in our lives. In order to be strong and abundant we are required to attend to the three main areas of body, mind and spirit. These must be stoked in a positive way to ensure that we are strong and able to squeeze all the juice out of life. Ask yourself if your perpetual daily habits are moving you nearer or further away from the strength and empowerment you seek.
The suit of swords is all about communication and mental processes. When the Daughter of Swords comes out, I often see it as flashes of inspiration which appear to come out of nowhere. Take note this week, of your inner knowing and guidance. If you receive some information, which just feels true for you, but you’re not sure where it is coming from, be sure to explore what it means for you, as it could contain valuable inner wisdom.
This is a week of new beginnings and inspired concepts! Any ideas which emerge in your consciousness really could have legs, and may contain the seeds of something which has tremendous potential. So don’t dismiss anything as being too crazy or unworkable. The Aces are about the essence or impression of an idea, and so may need some fine tuning, but the basic idea is good….so develop it, and run with it. You never know where it might take you!
This week it may seem that you are highly perceptive and receptive to any emotional undercurrents. You can see right through people and situations with laser sharp instincts. Nothing can be hidden or concealed from you. Your inner radar is highly developed and can home in on the deeper levels of reality. Trust what you feel!
If there are choices which need to be made this week it could prove very confusing. There are so many possible options on offer that it may feel impossible to choose between them. What to do for the best? Because this is the suit of cups which rules emotions, feelings and intuition, the best advice would probably be to follow your heart or gut feeling, rather than attempting to make a decision using a rational or logical process. There is a choice on offer that would be a perfect fit…..symbolised by the one upright cup in the midst of all the inverted ones. Listen to your heart to come to the right decision for you.
