The Empress is a beautiful, bountiful card. It asks us to consider if we are nourishing ourselves on a regular basis? Are we doing the things which will empower us to create and sustain the important things in our lives. In order to be strong and abundant we are required to attend to the three main areas of body, mind and spirit. These must be stoked in a positive way to ensure that we are strong and able to squeeze all the juice out of life. Ask yourself if your perpetual daily habits are moving you nearer or further away from the strength and empowerment you seek.
Slow and steady wins the race. The Son of Pentacles energy might not be the most dynamic but it is certainly determined, tenacious and persistent. He won’t win any prizes for flair and charisma but if a job needs doing, and it needs doing well, this is your man. If you have a task that needs completing, just keep plodding on….persistence will pay off today.
The card I drew today from The Wild Unknown is the Six of Cups. This card seems to hark back to a much richer and rosier past. The tangle of multicoloured roots seem to suggest that when we look back with nostalgia, things seem more vibrant and exciting. However, when we don our rose tinted specs sometimes we can have a distorted and skewed vision of what came before, making the present seem dull and lack lustre in comparison. Especially if we had a happy and contented early life, it can seem as if some of the shine is being taken off as we age. Nothing seems as fresh or new anymore and we become jaded and cynical.
However, what we must remember is that all any of us has is the “now”, and if we spend all our time wishing to be transported back to a magical and mythical time of the past, we are in danger of completely missing our present and future.
Of course it’s great to look back on the happy memories of the past; just not so great if we get trapped there and waste the opportunity to make more awesome memories in the here and now.
If after careful and realistic consideration you genuinely believe that all your best times are behind you, then it’s time to reintegrate some of the people, places and activities that used to bring you joy! Think about some of your former passions and how you can reincorporate them into your life today. Start making new memories that you can look back on with warm, fuzzy feelings in years to come.
It’s probably going to be really difficult to focus on anything for too long today, as your attention is called to multiple tasks and situations which you must deal with. Instead of trying to do everything at once by multitasking like crazy, if you can, attempt to put your energies into one thing at a time. It’s better to prioritise and do a few things well, rather than flying off at a tangent and not fully completing anything on your to do list. What you fail to accomplish will still be on your schedule for tomorrow….and maybe some problems will solve themselves so that you are able to strike them off your list!
You may feel defensive and forced to stand your corner today. It is as if someone is prodding you with a stick and provoking you into striking. Although you are a driven and passionate person you are not usually aggressive unless pushed to your limits. Someone is overstepping the mark today, but may act surprised when you finally lose your cool!
This is a beautiful, positive card signifying new beginnings in love and relationships. Suddenly your joie de vivre is restored and you feel as if your cup runneth over. Life is fizzing with excitement again, and you feel a sense of hope and positivity starting to bubble up from the very depths of your soul. Things are starting to happen! It may be slow and steady at first but then may suddenly speed up and gather momentum.
It would be tempting today to look back on the past and see it through rose tinted glasses. Does the present seem grey and boring in comparison? Sometimes if life appears not to be conforming to the pictures you created in your head it is easy to draw the conclusion that something is wrong. However, maybe everything is right? Perhaps everything really is happening perfectly and all is well.
The Mother of Swords doesn’t miss a trick. Her piercing gaze cuts straight to the heart of any situation, and it’s impossible to pull the wool over her eyes. She has been through some tough times and emerged stronger and more resilient. This lady is one tough cookie; she’s a survivor and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. If you get the sense that someone is trying to pull a fast one today, take note as you are probably spot on with your perception.
There is amazing potential for a new start in some area of your physical reality. This could be something which pampers and nourishes your body such as a new dietary or exercise regime. Or it could be a new project which promises to be enriching and lucrative. It may also centre around your home….perhaps you have plans to remodel or spruce up your living space? This would be an opportune moment to get things moving.
