wild {unknown} friday

This weeks randomly selected card is Judgement from The Wild Unknown deck.
What looks like a beautiful white dove hovers at the top of the card, emanating rays of light.

Below the dove, black coloured birds or even bats rise up towards the outstretched wings of the almost angelic looking presence.

There is an overwhelming feeling of peace, freedom and redemption contained within this card as the birds appear to emerge from the tangled mass of darkness and heed the call from above.

This week it is time to heed this call in our own lives. The time has come to leave behind the difficulties and disappointments of the past and move forwards towards a more promising and uplifting future.

Anything that is holding you back from making peace with yourself and others can now be gently released into the light. Even if there are regrets and mistakes in your past that you have struggled to let go of, the Judgement card signals that you are forgiven and accepted into the protection and safety of a higher power (whatever this means to you).

Any sense of not deserving or being worthy of freedom, peace of mind and redemption are utterly false. The dove on this card says that everyone is forgiven and free to rise up into this magical place of peace, love and wisdom. The dove makes no judgement and welcomes all comers with the same open arms (wings).

The slate is wiped clean and we are free to break free from the murky recesses of the past and begin again….clean, purified and absolved.

The randomly drawn card for this week is The Lovers. This is a gorgeous depiction showing a pair of Canadian Geese flying in formation against a beautiful sky radiating vibrant blue rays. Canada Geese are known to mate for life, and blue is a colour of peace, harmony and communication. Put these together and we can see that this is a beautiful union of soulmates!

So, this is a marvellous energy to pervade the coming week and could have several implications concerning what we might expect.

Of course the most obvious interpretation is that we are already in, or about to discover a relationship which embodies this unbreakable union of commitment, loyalty and trust. This is the type of relationship where we feel we are in a true partnership; a meeting of mind, body and soul.

Like the geese shown in this image we feel that we have a shared future. Our goals and values are in sync and we are travelling in the same direction. This is the type of union where we feel that the other person simply ‘gets’ us. Often there is no need for words….both fly seamlessly together, part of a perfect team.

This relationship is rock solid and built on unshakeable foundations of commitment, faith and trust. It has often stood the test of time and provided steadfast support even through tough times. This is a love you can depend upon to always be there for you…..reliable and constant.

I think that we all dream of experiencing a partnership like this if we haven’t been lucky enough to find it thus far. However, The Lovers card doesn’t only relate to a romantic union. It could also describe a familial relationship, a kindred spirit we form a strong bond with, or even a working or business partnership.

I hope that this week you will be blessed with encountering this life affirming, steadfast union with someone special!

Until next week,

Daily Draw – The Star

IMG_5796.JPG

Today’s card is The Star! Another beautiful card that promises that wishes will come true. After The Fool yesterday, this speaks to me of taking chances and opportunities; of seizing the day! This will be the way to make things happen this year and follow the path to my own North Star. Dreams can finally become a reality in 2015 and hope springs eternal. These two cards in tandem are an amazingly positive omen and give me a sense of excitement and enthusiasm to embark on the next phase of my journey; a adventure that will hopefully take me to some awesome new places, people and circumstances!

Daily Draw – The Ace of Swords

The card I have picked today is The Ace of Swords. This is the card of sudden flashes of insight and clarity. Maybe you have been wrestling with a thorny issue or problem for some time, and then suddenly, like a bolt from the blue the answer is presented to you in a wholly formed flash of inspiration. You wonder why this perfect solution had never occurred to you before…..but here it is, flawless in it’s creative simplicity!

If you get a sudden, lightening bolt of inspiration today be sure to make a note of it as it could be just the solution you’ve been searching for!

Daily Draw – The Empress

IMG_5697.JPG

Today’s card is a truly beautiful one! In The Wild Unknown the image depicts a strong and pure white tree against a pitch black night sky, illuminated only by a crescent moon. The tree is edged with glorious pink, purple and red blossom to represent fertility, femininity and abundance.

The dark night sky suggests the mystery and shadows of the Divine Feminine and alludes to the power of intuition and inner wisdom.

The Empress also has a deep and sensual connection with life and nature, and a strong need for creative self expression and beauty in her life. This is a time to fully explore your world using the five senses: immerse yourself in a sensual maelstrom of soothing and harmonious sounds, delectable tastes and smells, the pure comfort of natural fibres to keep out the Wintet chill, and the awe inspiring sights of the natural world.

Daily Draw – The Ten of Swords

IMG_5696.JPG

This card signifies that something is coming to an end. It is time to let go of whatever it is and move on. The light at the top of the card represents a new dawn and the beginning of fresh new opportunities.

This card, in The Wild Unknown also talks to me of something unseen; this can either be because another person is keeping you in the dark about something, or because you yourself are choosing or refusing to look at an issue in your life. There is a suggestion that someone else is betraying you by stabbing you in the back, or again you may be turning this self-destructive tendency on yourself and being your own worst enemy by refusing to recognise something that really needs to be addressed.

Daily Draw – The Seven of Pentacles

IMG_5682.JPG

The Seven of Pentacles is a card all about putting in the hard work and then waiting patiently for the results to appear.

This is a bit like planting seeds in the garden. Once we have done the work of preparing the soil, planting the seeds and ensuring that they are watered, we know that we have given the seeds the optimum conditions to grow. All we can then do is remain patient, continue to nurture the seeds and then have faith that we have done enough to produce the results we are hoping for.

If we grow impatient and dig the seeds up to see if there is any sign of them sprouting, we will have undone all our diligent work and ruined our chances of success.

To me, this card is about playing the long game. We are not going to get immediate gratification on this project. Instead, it is about setting things up so that we have the best possible chance of success in the future.

Daily Draw – Death

IMG_5681.JPG

The Death card can be quite scary, particularly in some Tarot decks where it is depicted as a Grim Reaper type character with all the associations that comes with. In The Wild Unknown the card depicts a skeletal bird which seems to float like a spectre or ghost. There are still a few feathers remaining on it’s bleached white bones. Whenever I look at this card however, the feathers always look more like leaves or ferns which are starting to sprout from the dead bird. To me this speaks of the true meaning of this card which is about a metaphorical death and rebirth. Often we have to let go of something that is no longer serving us in order to allow new and fresh opportunities to come to us. This can be a scary thing to do, but once a situation has irretrievably died sometimes the only way forward is to face up to this, let go, and move forward into the new.
