wild {unknown} friday

The Mother of Pentacles is the epitome of the Earth Mother, providing caring, nurturing and warm hearted support to her loved ones. Her sense of devotion, and her affectionate, generous nature knows no bounds when it comes to providing a safe, secure and homely haven for her family.

This personality is also quick to assist others, and freely provides love and support where required. Others are often comforted by her presence. She could be your down to earth and practical counsellor, mentor or teacher. One thing’s for sure….she always makes others feel safe and heard, and has a knack for offering sensible, realistic guidance. She is one of those people who seems to instinctively know the right way forward in any situation, and trusts herself and her judgement implicitly.

The Mother of Pentacles could often be described as a domestic goddess too. She has a very sensual, earthy and creative approach …. life tends to blossom in home, family and work life wherever it is touched by this individual.

There are several ways in which you could capitalise on the characteristics of the Mother of Pentacles energy….

•Deal with others, and your present circumstances in a compassionate, nurturing, practical and down to earth way
•Focus on creating a calm and balanced life

•Be resourceful and practical, dealing with issues as they arise and coming up with simple, realistic solutions to fix problems with minimum fuss

There are also a couple of downsides to the qualities of the Mother of Pentacles to be aware of….
•Be careful that you are not sacrificing your own identity, and desires by constantly putting others before yourself and your needs
•Balance in all things is vital; you are just as important as anyone else

wild {unknown} friday

It’s probably going to be really difficult to focus on anything for too long this week, as your attention is called to multiple tasks and situations which you must deal with. Instead of trying to do everything at once by multitasking like crazy, if you can, attempt to put your energies into one thing at a time. It’s better to prioritise and do a few things well, rather than flying off at a tangent and not fully completing anything on your to do list. What you fail to accomplish will still be on your schedule for another day….and who knows, maybe some problems will solve themselves so that you are able to strike them off your list!

wild {unknown} friday

This weeks card is the Hierophant. It’s not one that usually resonates with me, but I find this interpretation from The Wild Unknown to be a very beautiful image. Often this card has strong associations with organised religion and tradition and if you’re not particularly religious it can be difficult to relate to.

This card however has an image of a crow which speaks to me of magic, wisdom, intuition and the voice of experience. The crow is tweeting so it obviously has something important to relay to us. It could be quite literal; maybe we will read something on Twitter which has a significant message for us this week! I think it’s important to remember with this card that the relevant information is likely to come from an outside source. It could be a mentor, counsellor or teacher, or just as likely it may be a snippet of conversation we overhear, the lyrics of a song on the radio or something we read on a blog at just the right moment.

The crow grasps a large key in her claws which suggests that something vital is about to be unlocked……something of great value which allows you to access new information that has previously been under metaphorical “lock and key”. The penny is about to drop and things fall into place.

The bolt of lightening underlines the fact that this message is likely to be received like a “bolt from the blue” when you least expect it. It is illumination that suddenly becomes available to you in a classic “light bulb” or “ah ha” moment.
So make sure you are alert to all incoming information this week, whatever it’s source. There may be gold and jewels mixed in with the everyday dross!

wild {unknown} friday

This weeks randomly drawn card is The Hanged Man, which depicts a bat hanging upside down, protectively cocooned by her shawl like wings, and with eyes glowing like red hot coals in the darkness. When this card turns up it is describing a time when we may feel that we are in limbo or suspense. It can be a period of forced withdrawal and retreat, or we may choose to take some time out to rest and let go, in order to regain our strength before launching ourselves back into the world.

One thing is certain however; we will emerge from this phase of our life seeing things very differently, often gaining wisdom or knowledge and a fresh perspective which can yield unexpected rewards when we again join the melee of our regular life.

The symbolism of the bat used in this card literally flips everything on it’s head, so if you are grappling with a baffling situation try to use this metaphor to see things completely differently to your habitual way of thinking.

If this slow down in your life is enforced rather than chosen it can be frustrating to say the least! Here we have a choice…..either to rail against this time of limbo, being dragged kicking and screaming to a place of surrender and letting go. Or, we could take advantage of the fact that life has slowed down, surrender control, and see what we can learn from looking at everything differently in this topsy turvy world.

Until next week,
